Poetry In The Sand

Salt water kisses my lips,
Warm breeze takes my hand.
I sang to the waves
And wrote poetry in the sand.

I tasted dew on the grass
Leaves lifted, sang to me
I walked atop the water
There was music in the sea.

Then I grew cold upon the rocks
The words flew from my reach
I left the sand, and all ’twas left
Were footprints on the beach.

I listened to the ocean
I danced upon her land
I looked back across the beach
There were poems in the sand.
