a moment
under a veil,
silk of colour, the
sweet and painful

eyes, clear and dark,
water whispers “I love you”
from them
no sound-

but the sweet warm breaths
filling the small
between two nose-tips

and now there’s no space between lips,
urgent, still soft, those
same words
we’re trying to push two of the same phrase

this moment is breath, eyes, lips, cheeks,
love, softness, urgency… wonderment

under the veil, deep colours, rich light,
no other world ever
existed, and why should it, and if
it did, it never knew of us

hidden from even the furniture which has no eyes to see
no other world

releasing to each other the raw beauty of our souls

under a veil
