In a kiss
you cause me to forget my complaints
you cause me to abandon petty worries

I resist only temporarily.
And you know
that all along
for so long
this is what I have been craving.

You are far too clever for my good
or perhaps too clever for my ignorance
for it is creeping away slowly like shadows at dawn.

In a kiss
You single-handedly
(double lip-edly?)
satisfy my every question
silence my every protest
allay my every fear.

You do not give when I ask for it,
no matter how much I crave.
You leave me with only the smallest, briefest taste
when I am wanting of the feast.
You place this lesson on my lips
precisely when I will learn the most.

then, and only then.

and oh, how much I learn.

This blog is the collection of my poetry and prose, in chronological order from most recent to oldest.

Constructive critique is actively encouraged!

I am usually singing words as well as writing them, and make lots of other art. You can find me & my other art at any of the below links. x
