can I express
this thankfulness

it is easier
when I am not chasing

when I am not afraid
your mind will fall away from mine

your mind; my fear proven wrong, once again
even after all this time

even after all this; your eyes
look out at mine from guarded place

unguarded; the curtain is pulled back.
we stand alone.  but in the dark

one silhouette becomes two; one shadow
splits and sways.  our source of light

one and the same.  I love you,
somehow it means a different thing,

represents a new beast this time.
I love you.  I cannot say,

I cannot count the ways.  you’re mine.
I’m yours, but that is not an ended sentence.
nor the start.  begin again.

can I express
this thankfulness.
